Gold Coast Surf Camp is intended for the student who wants to dedicate his/her day exclusively to surfing, therefore he/she will have two surf sessions per day. This school functions 7 days a week, including weekends.

We have surf courses starting every day; therefore, the student may start surf lessons any day of the week.

Beginners can surf at the same time as the advanced as we have the best variety of waves on the Gold Coast. Beginners can surf closer to shore while intermediate and advanced surf in the more critical waves out the back at the same beach.
We have a variety of great surf spots to go to starting at Surfers Paradise, Burleigh Heads Kirra, the Spit and Secret Spots. To get the best of the Gold Coast beaches we go to the best spots based on wind direction, tides, swell size and skill level. We have some of the best waves here for surfing in the whole world. It’s our local knowledge that is going to give you the best experience possible.

We coach the students based on their surfing level. We will always be able to teach you more surf techniques even if you are professional as World Champion Cheyne Horan is our head Surf Coach.
When you have had a week with us you will be stoked and will improve while having fun as we are all about enjoying the journey and we know we are sharing one of the best experiences on the planet SURFING.
Students should bring a beach towel, sun protection, water, food (usually a sandwich and fruit) and his/her personal belongings. Conditions are typically warm and board shorts or a swimsuit are often sufficient. If a wetsuit is required ensure you have a swimsuit or board shorts to wear underneath.

If it is a student’s first surf lesson at Gold Coast Surf Camp we will ask him/her to arrive 30 minutes earlier than the other students already having surf lessons, this is in order to cover their introduction to the surf instructors and vice versa, some basic instructions, as well as the provision of surf equipment.
Once all students and instructors are together there is an announcement made by one of the surf instructors who informs every one of the activities of the surf school for that day and the school's surf spot for the day. Students then go to the beach, either in our transport or by foot, depending on which beach it has been decided has the best waves for the class.

At the beach students are divided by their surf level in a ratio of approximately 5 students to one surf instructor.
There is one surf class before lunch followed by a lunch break (attention: it is important that students either bring their own lunch, or they may buy it at the surf spot) and then there is a second surf lesson.

Following the second surf class student’s return to the Surf Camp where on certain days the students will receive video analysis and correction of their surf performance. After this students are then free to enjoy the rest of the day knowing that the next day, they will all meet up again in the morning for surf lessons.
